About the Authors and MacAvon Media
Nigel and Jenny Chapman are internationally well-known authors of technical books, and college textbooks such as Web Design: A Complete Introduction and Digital Multimedia, the standard course texts in those subjects. They also produce related digital content and companion Web sites. Their books and Web sites are used by students, lecturers and professionals in almost every country of the world.
Chapman & Chapman books are based upon knowledge acquired during more than 16 years of continuing professional practice in Web development and digital media, combined with many years experience of teaching at some of the world's best higher education institutions. With a substantial international readership in numerous countries, all the books and their companion sites are created with respect for the requirements of diverse cultures. Particular care is taken to ensure that examples and illustrations are not culturally insensitive, and are appropriate for use by anyone, anywhere.

Nigel Chapman
Dr. Nigel Chapman is a highly respected author of major textbooks and professional books on Web design, digital media and programming languages, and an experienced Web developer who maintains several Web sites and his own Web server.
A graduate of the University of Cambridge, Nigel Chapman has taught and studied at several of the world's best universities. Nigel was a Lecturer then Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at University College London for 11 years, and formerly a Lecturer in Computing Science at the University of St. Andrews (Scotland). He left academia to form MacAvon Media and devote his time to writing and Web development. He holds the following university degrees:

Jenny Chapman is co-author and illustrator of Chapman & Chapman books, author of a popular trade book on Web animation, and an experienced Web and book designer. She is also an award-winning animator/multimedia filmmaker and artist.
A graduate of the University of Leeds and Edinburgh College of Art, Jenny was formerly a part-time Lecturer in Visual Communication at Edinburgh College of Art. She taught at the University of St. Andrews while doing postgraduate research there, and worked for 5 years at University College London, typesetting and publishing academic publications, before becoming self-employed as a partner in MacAvon Media. She holds the following university degrees:

MacAvon Media is a registered business partnership based in Scotland (UK), formed by Nigel and Jenny Chapman in 1996. MacAvon Media is dedicated to the creation and publication of high-quality educational material for professionals and colleges, and to the provision of free companion Web sites for students and other readers, and free teaching support services for lecturers and instructors using Chapman & Chapman textbooks in colleges and universities all around the world.
In 2011 MacAvon Media started publishing under its own imprint. The Web Security Topics series is published by MacAvon Media in paperback and Kindle e-book formats. MacAvon Media books are available from all good book stores and online booksellers.
